Award Categories

Servicemember of the Year 
 

Eligibility: current member of UFAA and currently an Active Duty member of the Armed Forces
Award Description: This will be awarded to a person who exhibits service to the University of Florida, their community, and upholds the mission and core values of UFAMA. 
 

Veteran of the Year
 

Eligibility: current member of UFAA and honorably discharged from any of the Armed Forces
Award Description: This will be awarded to a veteran who exhibits service to the University of Florida, their community, and upholds the mission and core values of UFAMA.
 

Reservist Member of the Year 
 

Eligibility: current member of UFAA and currently a Reservist member of the Armed Forces
Award Description: This will be awarded to a person who exhibits service to the University of Florida, their community, and upholds the mission and core values of UFAMA. 
 

Family Member of the Year
 

Eligibility: current member of UFAA and currently has an immediate family member that serves in the Armed Forces
Award Description: This will be awarded to a person who exhibits service to the University of Florida, their community , and upholds the mission and core values of UFAMA.
 

DOW Civilian of the Year
 

Eligibility: current member of UFAA and currently an employee of a verified Department of War agency
Award Description: This will be awarded to a person who exhibits service to the University of Florida, upholds the mission and core values of UFAMA, and shows exemplary service in their work contributions in their DOW profession in support of the Armed Forces.
 

Lifetime Achievement 
 

Eligibility: current member of UFAA and currently an Active Duty/ Reservist member of the Uniformed Services or honorably discharged from the Armed Forces
Award Description: This will be awarded to a person who has exhibited years of dedication and service to the University of Florida and their community.  This award highlights a person with a mission first for the greatest positive impact, attitude, and action that uphold the mission and core values of UFAMA.
 

UFAMA Hall of Fame
 

The UFAMA Hall of Fame is our most prestigious recognition, reserved for University of Florida alumni whose military service, dedication to the University, and lifetime of contributions have left a transformational and enduring legacy. It is a recognition of a life well lived in service to country and university. Honorees may be living or deceased.

 

Who we're looking for:
 

A Gator: A graduate of the University of Florida.
A veteran: Honorable service in any branch of the U.S. Uniformed Services.

UF champion: A lasting, meaningful impact on the University of Florida through philanthropy, leadership, or enduring legacy programs.
A servant-leader: A lifetime of giving back to their community, profession, and country.
