Association of military alumni Scholarships

We are excited to be presenting five $1,000 scholarships this year!

All information must be received electronically before 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April, 23 2025

Required Documents for PDF upload:

Your application will not be complete, nor considered, unless the following items are submitted in a single PDF as prescribed:

A copy of your Resume/CV.
A copy of your UF Acceptance Letter.
A copy of your High School Transcript
A copy of your SAT or ACT Score (IF NOT ON YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT)
A Personal Statement addressing why you selected the University of Florida, what you hope to accomplish through your education and why you should receive a scholarship from the University of Florida Association of Military Alumni. Please limit to one page (8 1⁄2” x 11”).
Any additional pages regarding military affiliation.

Convert all attachments to a single PDF and format attachment name as follows: “Application Name_Last Name, First Name.pdf” and upload as part of form below.

Letters of Recommendation:

In addition to this application, ensure letters of recommendation are emailed directly from the recommender/author to scholarships@gatormilitary.org prior to the deadline of Monday, March 24, 2025.

You should have at least two, but no more than three, from the following sources:

- Academic reference (i.e., teacher, mentor, guidance counselor)

- Employment reference (i.e., manager, supervisor)

- Military reference (i.e., active duty, reserve, or military veteran)

The letters of recommendation should be typed, limited to one page, and emailed as a

pdf with the subject line “Recommendation_Last Name of Scholarship Applicant, First

Name of Scholarship Applicant”.

To be eligible for scholarship consideration, you must meet at least one of the following criteria. Please check all of the box(es) that apply to you:

Active-Duty Military

Military Veteran

Department of Defense (DoD) (Civilian or Other)

Other Military or DoD Affiliated (i.e., spouse, child, Junior ROTC, inspired by a service member, etc.)

Incoming UF ROTC Student

Provide details regarding your military affiliation that you noted above:

For example: branch of service, highest rank held, years of service, relationship to servicemember, civilian positions, source of inspiration, etc.

Though not required, please list all extracurricular activities specific to the military and/or veteran population. Include positions held (title and description of job), honors, awards or special recognition. (Attach additional sheet(s) if necessary.)
