Sara Wedemeyer

VP - Community Development

LT Sara Wedemeyer, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Florida in May, 2017. 

In August 2018 she reported to Navy Officer Candidate School and earned her commission as an ENS and was designated a Student Naval Aviator. In December 2018, LT Wedemeyer reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola and completed Introductory Flight Screening and Aviation Preflight Indoctrination. 

Upon graduation, she reported to Naval Air Station Corpus Christi for Primary Flight Training with VT-28 “Rangers” and Advance Flight Training with VT-31 “Wise Owls”. In December 2021, LT Wedemeyer earned her Wings of Gold and was designated a Naval Aviator. She was assigned to the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Community (MPRA). 

After earning her Wings, LT Wedemeyer reported to the Fleet Replacement Squadron, VP-30 “Pro’s Nest” at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, where she completed her NATOPS qualification for the P-8A “Poseidon”. 

After completing training, she was assigned to VP-46 “Grey Knights” at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. During her time at VP-46, LT Wedemeyer has served as Personnel Officer and 220 Branch Officer, with collateral duties in the Female Mentorship Organization and the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.

LT Wedemeyer has been previously detached to Homeland Defense (HLD) at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. She is actively training for future deployments and detachments. 

LT Wedemeyer is currently working on Graduate Certificates from the University of Florida in Agriculture Education and Disaster Management. In her civilian capacity, she actively volunteers with developing nonprofits and is invested in cultivating leadership in women’s organizations.
