Eric Campbell

LT Eric “Soup” Campbell, a native of Vero Beach, Florida, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geological Science from the University of Florida in May of 2018, along with his commission as an ENS in the United States Navy through the NROTC program.

In June 2018, LT Campbell reported to Naval Aviation Schools Command (NASC) located at NAS Pensacola.  During his training as a Student Naval Aviator, he completed primary flight training with VT-2 “Doerbirds”, and advanced flight training with HT-18 “Vigilant Eagles”.  In May of 2020, LT Campbell completed flight school and was designated as an Unrestricted Naval Aviator with an assignment to the Helicopter Maritime Strike Community (HSM).

After earning his wings, LT Campbell reported to HSM-40 “Airwolves” at NS Mayport, where he completed his NATOPS qualification for the MH-60R Seahawk. After completing training, he was assigned to the expeditionary squadron HSM-48 “Vipers”. During his time at HSM-48, he served as the Ground Training Officer, MWR Officer, Detachment Training Officer, and Detachment Maintenance Officer.  During his sea tour, he deployed with the USS Nitze (DDG 94) to C5F AOR in support of counter-drug, counter-terrorism, and freedom of navigation operations. Additionally, he deployed with the USS Farragut (DDG 99) to C4F AOR, assisting the USCG with counter-drug operations in the Caribbean Sea. 

Currently, LT Campbell is a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) at HSM-48, and is actively training for future deployments.
